It is a typical, charming Italian town with a multitude of bars, patisseries, restaurants, and small shops all jostling for business in its quaint alleys and streets. The promenade has numerous bars and of course one speciality found all over the country, ice-cream!
Fresh fruit and vegetables still have the smell of fresh, recently harvested produce, together with fish caught locally. A multitude of specialities in the cake area and a fine selection of wines all at unbelievably reasonable prices, make for a hugely contented lifestyle.
As a base, Brancaleone gives easy access to numerous historical attractions including Greco – Roman ruins as well as being close to the Aspromonte National Park and the mountains which offer skiing in the winter.
For the serious shopper, Reggio is a short drive away and apart from the well known designer labels, the city offers glamorous shops, a historic maritime & heritage museums, countless bars and restaurants and a sophisticated night life.
The airport Brancaleone is Reggio, flights from Manchester and Heathrow with 1 stopover. Low cost airlines soon to offer direct flights as the region gets more popular.
Tropea
Tropea stands on an imposing standstone cliff, in a charming position between the Gulf of Sant’Eufemia and Gioia Tauro, and is one of the most artistically interesting and picturesque centres in the Vibo Valentia province.
The area stills holds traces of ancient prehistoric settlements, alongside buildings and burial passages dating back to Greek and Roman times.Nowadays Tropea is an exclusive seaside resort that also boasts a modern tourist and fishing harbour. The town also has one of the prettiest and best-preserved historic centres in the region.
The airport for Tropea/Zambrone is LeMezzia, flights direct from London Stansted.

Reasons to invest in Italy
Prices continue to go the right way for investors.
While some parts of the world are seeing a drop in property prices and an unstable property market, Italy's property market remains bouyant with increases in the first half of 2007 and further increases expected during the second part of the year.
In 2006 house price growth was reported at 6.3% compared to 10.6% in 2003, 8.7% in 2004 and 7.1% in 2005. It is believed that the slowdown in growth is mainly due to increased mortgage rates but overall the market is still strong, particularly in smaller properties such as apartments and houses up to 60sqM.
The results of a recent Nomisma study put the southern Italian regions at the top of the list for property price increases, where profitability levels are also high and well above the average registered in the whole of Italy.
These regions include Calabria, Puglia, Piedmont, Umbria, Veneto, Marche, Abruzzo and Emilia Romagna.
Good rental potential, no over development or saturation.
Strict and efficient property purchase procedure laws mean very small chance of deals falling through. Once a price is agreed and deposit paid both parties are liable if they pull out of the deal.
The buyer would lose their 10% deposit and the vendor would have to pay double the deposit amount to the buyer. If only the UK had these rules!
